Dusk 'The Selected Game Is Not Supported' — Region & Version Guide

Dusk v1.0.x only accepts GameCube NTSC-U and PAL Twilight Princess. Why your Japan / Wii / Wii U HD dump fails, and what to do per region.

Published 2026-05-14 ·Updated 2026-05-14

Dusklight v1.0.x recognizes a handful of Twilight Princess Game IDs but only two are actually supported. Everything else gets this error.

What v1.0.x supports

Game IDRegionStatus
GZ2E01GameCube NTSC-U (USA)✅ Supported
GZ2P01GameCube PAL (Europe / Australia)✅ Supported
GZ2J01GameCube Japan (NTSC-J)⏳ Recognized, planned
RZDE01_00, RZDE01_02Wii NTSC-U⏳ Recognized, planned
RZDP01Wii PAL⏳ Recognized, planned
RZDJ01Wii NTSC-J⏳ Recognized, planned
DZDE01Wii Korea⏳ Recognized, planned
Wii Shield / DemoSpecial builds⏳ Tracking

If your dump’s Game ID is in the “Recognized, planned” rows, Dusklight identifies it but won’t run it yet. The error message is honest: “not supported” means support hasn’t shipped, not that the dump is broken.

What to do per region

You have a GameCube Japan disc

Wait. NTSC-J is on the roadmap. Track github.com/TwilitRealm/dusklight releases or use Dolphin for GC Japan in the meantime.

You have a Wii disc (any region)

Same answer: wait for Wii support, which depends on the upstream zeldaret/tp Wii decomp (~53% as of May 2026). For now, Dolphin plays Wii TP at 30 FPS reliably; see Dusklight vs Dolphin.

You have a Wii U HD copy

Dusklight will never play HD — different codebase. To play HD on PC today, use Cemu. See Dusklight vs Cemu for which version fits your situation.

Your disc is GameCube NTSC-U or PAL but you still hit this error

That’s a different problem — most likely a hash mismatch even though the Game ID is right. See Disc Image Did Not Pass Hash Verification.
