Dusk Twilight Princess: GitHub, Reddit & Discord

Where the Dusk Twilight Princess PC port community lives — official GitHub repo, the Discord server, and the most active Reddit threads. All verified links.

If you’re trying to find the project itself — to grab a release, file a bug, or join the conversation — here is where it actually lives. We are an independent guide, not the team. For everything below, you are talking directly to TwilitRealm or to the broader community.

GitHub — TwilitRealm/dusklight

The repository is the source of truth for everything Dusklight-related.

What’s in the repo

FolderWhat it is
src/The ported game code, derived from the zeldaret/tp decompilation
port/Platform-specific glue code (Windows/macOS/Linux/Android/iOS shims)
docs/Build instructions for each target platform
tools/Asset packer, ROM extractor, save-file helpers

The repo does not contain Nintendo’s game data. You provide your own legally-dumped GameCube disc — see our legal-dump guide.

What to use the issue tracker for

The TwilitRealm team monitors GitHub issues actively. Good things to file:

  • Reproducible bugs with platform, version, and steps
  • Build errors when compiling from source
  • Documentation gaps in the README

Less useful on GitHub (use Discord instead):

  • “Will it run on my exact hardware?” support questions
  • General praise / feedback
  • Mod ideas

We track every confirmed bug from the GitHub tracker on our Known Issues page, updated alongside each release.

Discord — discord.gg/dusktp

The official Dusklight Discord is the real-time community hub.

  • Invite: discord.gg/dusktp
  • Run by: TwilitRealm team
  • Channels (typical): #announcements, #install-help, #bug-reports, #mods, #dev-chat, platform-specific channels (#windows, #mac, #linux, #steam-deck, #mobile)

When Discord is faster than GitHub

  • You’re stuck on install and want a sanity check (“did Apple Silicon launch fix ship yet?”)
  • You want to confirm a bug you’re seeing before filing a formal issue
  • You’re hunting a specific texture-pack or mod
  • You want development chatter — what’s being worked on right now

When to use Discord vs the issue tracker

Use Discord forUse GitHub for
Real-time troubleshootingReproducible bugs to be fixed
”Is X possible?” questionsConfirmed regressions
Mod showcaseBuild / packaging issues
Community chatDocumentation patches (PRs)

We are not in any official capacity on the Discord — Dusk Port (this site) is independent.

Reddit — Where the Discussion Happens

There is no single “official” Dusklight subreddit. Discussion is spread across several active communities, each with a slightly different angle.

Primary subs

  • r/twilightprincess — the dedicated TP community. Highest concentration of Dusklight-specific posts: install screenshots, version comparisons, mod showcases, save-game help.
  • r/zelda — the main Zelda subreddit. The Dusklight launch announcement on May 9, 2026 hit the front page; expect ongoing news posts, but day-to-day support is thinner here.
  • r/pcgaming — general PC gaming news. Picks up Dusklight milestone releases (v1.0, future v1.1, Wii NTSC-J support, etc.) and platform-specific stories like Steam Deck verification.
  • r/emulation — even though Dusklight is a port (not an emulator), the emulation community tracks it because decompilation ports compete directly with emulator-based play. Useful for Cemu/Dolphin comparison threads and mod-compatibility chatter.

Secondary subs

  • r/SteamDeck — performance reports, Decky plugin compatibility, the “Verified” status conversation.
  • r/linux_gaming — Linux build discussion, distro-specific quirks, AppImage permission bug coverage.
  • r/AndroidGaming and r/jailbreak — mobile install threads, controller compatibility.

How to search Reddit usefully

The Reddit search bar is weak. For finding Dusklight discussion:

  1. Use Google with site:reddit.com — e.g., site:reddit.com dusk twilight princess steam deck
  2. Sort by “New” within r/twilightprincess — fresh install threads daily
  3. Use the Reddit Pushshift mirror for historical thread archaeology

What’s NOT in the community

A few things to know so you don’t get phished:

  • There is no official Dusklight Twitter/X account as of May 2026. If you see one claiming official status, it is unofficial.
  • There is no Patreon, Ko-fi, or donation page for Dusklight. The project is CC0; if you want to support it, contribute code or documentation on GitHub.
  • There is no “Dusklight Premium” or paid tier. Anyone selling this is selling something else.
  • There is no official Telegram, Matrix, or IRC channel. Discord is it.
